The year 2020 has been an eventful year with Covid 19. With the number of new cases and deaths spiralling everyday, we have the be thankful that we are lucky to be survivors. Condolences to those who have family and friends who passed away due to the virus. As for us, the survivors, we are still uncertain about tomorrow, but we can always hope for a better 2021. Looking back on this year, I could pat myself on my back for seriously following the government’s social distancing policy by not working during the lockdown and taking it easy the rest of the year. It was a bad year for the economy everywhere but it was a chance for us to slow down and reconsider our priorities. I was no exception for me. I took this time to meet more professional people that were like minded. We even organized a free work shop for parents and educators about sex education with doctor Jacob as the guest speaker; I also went to REAL TALK to discuss with people about Rules of Dating, Sex and Consent. Although I was a bit disappointed since it was not a talk delivered by experts with real statistics and scientific evidence but rather just a discussion and a speed-dating like event with a cover charge, I had some fun. In terms of business, I stopped advertising my services on dating website and let it grow organically. People started to look me up or find me by accident on FB, Twitter and Google Search and all these 6 years’ work has finally paid off. Single people that I met years ago finally found a partner and decided to have couple training packages with me. Sheila’s Massage has been a bit hit this year also with a few new clients having it multiple times. For personal challenges, I finally could tick off travelling from Saigon to Hanoi by bike off my bucket list. In addition, I learned to how to ski in Switzerland, eat Kobe beef in Kobe, take the Shinkansen, had an onsen in Kinosaki in winter, travel to new places in Vietnam and realized that my country is amazingly beautiful with paddy field filled roads, plentiful deserted coves, majestic moutains, pictureque passes and sandy beaches. Within a year, I set foot to many hidden charms in Vietnam that my 37 years of life could ever do. I meant to go to Thailand to get certified as a Thai masseuse to expand my repertoir but the quaratine in both countries has deterred me for a while, but I cannot postpone it any longer. On this festive occasion, I would like to make an announcement that I will be absent in Vietnam for a long time. So if you, my potential clients and students would like to take up some training, you will have up to the end of February to book a session with me since it will be costly to fly me back to Vietnam from half way around the world. I will try to free up my schedule as much as possible to accomodate your last minute training and session. Let us say good bye to this unfortunate year of 2020 and sail into 2021 with hope for effective vaccines for Covid, thriving economy and a love life full of passion.
