Massage Oil

Throughout my massage giving and teaching career, I have tried different types of oil and below are my experiences and observations.

  • Baby oil- Johnson and Johnson: if it’s safe and recommended for baby, it should be definitely suitable for adults? If you don’t have other choices, surely you can go for it. When I first started, I had to use it quite often until I found a replacement. The scent of baby oil is quite strong and it’s hard to get rid of. It’s highly artificial and it can cause headache to sensitive people. If you don’t want the scent to linger a while after your massage, then baby oil is a no no. My advice is to use it sparingly.
  • Generic massage oil with no brand and no specific ingredients: this is readily available at massage parlor and some fragrance shop. If you’re not sure about the expiry date or if it has no vitamin E or A or collagen or whatever substance that is supposedly good for your skin, don’t use it. You might risk having an allergic reaction.
  • Thai massage oil: this is a high end brand with a clear label and origin. The scent is long lasting and the oil comes in a variety of sizes and fragrances to choose from. It’s quite pricey and since it’s high quality and it has vitamin E from rice bran oil, mineral oil and some other types of oil. Although it is definitely good for your skin, you might want to mix it with coconut oil to lessen the scent.
  • Olive oil, sesame and almond oil: you don’t have anything at hand, so you want to try these types of oil out. The only advantage that these have is that they are edible. Since erotic massages can involve body kissing, you can be sure that’s it’s safe to lick your partner’s body with. However, these kinds of oil seem to have a thicker texture and therefore, you need to use more than usual to have a desired effect. Also for a woman the thought of cooking oil poured on her body is not very enticing or romantic. So only use it as a last resort.

  • Nuru gel: nuru gel is the most misleading and hyped as a liquid or massage oil. When you use the gel, you cannot perform a massage but rather a body rubbing or sliding. How does it feel? It is slimy, slippery like aloe vera. Imagine, instead of using a little bit of lubricant on a small area on your body, now you pour lots of it all over your body. Usually, you don’t need more than 150 mil to give a nuru massage. It has to be pre-soaked in lukewarm water and later on mixed with similarly heated water depending on how concentrated your gel is. Nuru gel should be handled by professional masseuses only since you can get seriously injured if you don’t know what to do. You might also end up feeling frustrated since it’s expensive and it doesn’t have much erotic effect as you would imagine.

  • Extra virgin coconut oil: I use this mostly for my massage teaching and giving. It’s edible and it can make your skin shinier and healthier. Coconut oil if applied well is slippery enough for a slide, thick enough to become a conductor for energy transfer. Despite all it’s good properties, like any oil, it can block your pores and cause rashes. Some pro-coconut oil websites even claim it works well as sunscreen and moisturiser; I would say it’s overrated since my body is usually covered with coconut oil residue (after giving and receiving a few hundred oil massages; you can never wash it off completely) and the part of the body unprotected by clothes usually get freckles.

On the whole, experiment with different types of oil and see which one you like the most; also stock them just in case your woman is allergic to one type, you can always switch to another. Make sure the oil is edible, so you can always add some to your salad or use it for cooking. You might consider mixing up different types of oil for your whole massage for different purposes such as arousing your partner first then calming them down later or the other way around. remember to soak up the excess oil to give their body a healthy skin. If you give an oil nuru massage, make sure to tell your partner to have a shower afterwards to avoid pore blockage. Never use body lotion since it’s designed to be soaked up; you might end up giving your partner too much of it without achieving the desired effect.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year, I wish you a wonderful 2020 that is full of quality mindful sex, intense orgasm, intimacy and sexual awareness.
